In my drawing 4 class, students where paired up and tasked with drawing portraits of each other. Due to complications at the time, I had to take a picture of my subject and do the assignment at home. I sketched out everything in an H pencil and then went over that with chalk pastels. I wanted the colors and mark making to be fun and bright because the model wanted, and I quote, “just don’t make me look like a serial killer”. Despite the blank expression I was referencing, I believe I succeeded in the task.
